New Year's Eve Celebration

Ooops! I did it AGAIN! HAPPY BELATED 10th DAY NEW YEAR! How was your New Year’s celebration? Have you set your new resolution yet? Still not too late to make a new one, come on, for most Chinese, the Chinese New Year would be here soon! I still think New Year is not here yet secretly. So take this opportunity to plan & set your resolution!

This year’s New Year’s Eve celebration was a low profile one, mainly because I just got back from Singapore on 31st December with my buddy so when we arrived, “H” whisked us away to a nearby Restaurant at USJ area.

Fiona & I have been eyeing to try this for a long time. We were heading to Milwaukee Steak House at Digital Mall USJ 19 to meet the rest of the gang.

With Megan, dearest buddy....

KC & Fiona got there first, chose to sit outdoor as the ambience is better and partly, away from the air-cond. Haha! We were served promptly and service has been good & quick. I thought Milwaukee serves western food at affordable price but when I had a quick look at the menu, I was taken aback. Despite the price, since we are already there and its New Year’s Eve, everyone placed their orders.

Mushroom soup came first. I took a spoonful of it and it was very creamy & thick. My friends loves that it came in a bread instead of with the usual, garlic bread.

Megan’s Turkey Breast was next. It was beautifully charred and looked juicy, served with mushroom sauce, seasoned vegetables, boiled potato and corn. I dislike any meat of breast as they are tough and dry. She passed some to us to sample, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought. She & Alaniss admits they love breast part of any meat.

Fiona’s Seafood and Cream Sauce spaghetti came and we were like, “Wah, seafood, big and juicy!” The portion looks huge and there were definitely plenty of clams. She still prefers the Spaghetti Cabonara from Little Italy though. Taste is alright.

KC ordered Lamb Leg. You would probably imagine it would come with the whole lamb leg but it wasn’t and they were disappointed. This guy could probably eat like the Vikings holding the lamb leg and bite off bit by bits. Unfortunately, this scene wasn’t available that night. The set came with the same sauce, sautéed vegetables & corn. I got to sample a bit too, and it was juicy & no gamey taste.

Alaniss’s order was Long John. Everyone was mesmerized with the humongous sausage and got to sample it, it has got a very springy texture. It was like dancing in my mouth. Her set came slightly different from others, a slice of garlic bread, coleslaw, mash potato & corn.

Most item on the menu are the usuals and I don’t feel like ordering Chicken again for “H”. So he gave me the liberty to order for him, I of course always order something different, haha! His was Juicy Venison, came with sauce, sautéed vegetables and also a corn. I’ve just heard too much of Venison Cantonese Mee, Venison Fried Black Pepper and Venison Fried with Ginger Onion and never try western style before.

The Chinese style would have Venison cooked until the meat is tender. This Juicy Venison is not as tender as I would want it to be, considering the Chinese style would have the meat thinly sliced. It’s still something different apart from ordering Chicken Chop at any standard western food corner.

I ordered Fillet Butter Fish, I somehow got tired of meat after I came back. My trip was infused with lots of Pork and reading the menu kind of shrugged off my appetite. I love that it came with Rice instead of mash potato, you’ll find out when I post about my Singapore trip later. The fish looked a bit dry and I thought the sauce that came with it was a bit weird, sweet sauce & belacan chilli sauce.

My oh, was I wrong! The fish was grilled perfectly and juicy! It was definitely very fresh and you can see some water oozing out, I think they must have steam it before it was grilled. It went very well with the rice and the great belacan chilli sauce.

Milwaukee Steak House was based on Harley Davidson bikers from the United States concept. It has an American feeling decoration and a special made platform just to place the Harley Davidson bikes. The Manager is extra friendly when I spotted a girl who wanted to take picture in front of the bike, the Manager handed the girl a cowboy hat as accessories.

That's me with the gang

Milwaukee has 2 other branch located at Balakong & Kepong. I don’t mind returning for the Fillet Butter Fish, but only if when I have extra cash to spare.
